Also, don’t stack the boxes all the way up to the ceiling of the storage unit. It’s much easier to move and access the boxes if you stack them to the height of your shoulders.
Use wooden pallets.
All of the books within the boxes on the floor could be ruined if the storage unit floods. Luckily, this problem can be easily avoided by putting down wooden pellets on the floor of the storage unit. This will elevate your boxes off of the floor and protect them in the event that it does flood.
Install shelving.
If you want to display your books inside the storage unit, consider buying shelving designed for this purpose. Shelving can be easily added to any storage unit—however, you probably won’t be able to fit as many books inside the unit if you choose to store them on shelves instead of in boxes.
